Nissan está trabajando en la nueva generación de la Rogue, pero tendremos que esperar al menos un año más para verla en los concesionarios. Mientras tanto la marca japonesa seguirá ofreciendo la versión actual de la SUV, que para 2020 perderá su versión híbrida. Según un portavoz de la Nissan, la causa son las pobres ventas de la variante.

Autoblog descubrió la ausencia de la variante híbrida en un comunicado de Nissan informando los precios del modelo para 2020. Consultado por el sitio, Kevin Raftery portavoz del fabricante confirmó que la Rogue Hybrid no regresará en 2020.

Si bien no proporcionó cifras exactas, Raftery explicó que las ventas de la versión híbrida eran solo "una pequeña parte de las ventas generales de la Rogue". En 2019, la Rogue Hybrid es aproximadamente $2,800 más que el modelo no híbrido en sus versiones estándar. Esa no es una cifra realmente grande, pero los números de la EPA muestran que habría que conducir la Rogue Hybrid durante 14 años ara recuperar el sobreprecio en ahorros en combustible. Según la agencia, la versión electrificada del SUV es cinco millas por galón más económica que el modelo normal, lo que debería ahorrarte alrededor de $200 al año en costos de combustible.

La Rogue Hybrid 2019 tiene un motor 2.0 litros que con su asistencia eléctrica produce un total de 176 caballos de fuerza. Aún podrás ordenar el modelo, pero sólo mientras queden unidades en el inventario. La versión híbrida de esta SUV podría volver cuando se estrene la próxima generación, pero no hay nada confirmado en este momento.
